I’ve been intrigued by data art for sometime; database as artwork. One of my fledgling projects in this area has been to sonificate (or sonify? I don’t know the correct term) web server log data. These are extracts from my sonification of MMU’s Art & Design web server log data for February 2009.
Each “note” is a request for a document on the web server. The length of notes is determined by the length of time between requests, the pitch is calculated from the clients IP address.

These are just extracts. Because of how my software works, it would take an entire month to playback the months worth of data.
